Chime is a convenient banking service that allows for fast and hassle-free transactions. Canceling transactions is also easy.
This guide will teach you how to cancel a payment you mistakenly sent, or impede a transaction you did not authorize.
How To Cancel A Pending Transaction On Chime:
You can cancel Chime transactions that are still pending. Pending transactions are those payments you already sent but the receiver has yet to retrieve the funds. For completed transactions, you can still apply for a refund from the merchant. If there is a dispute, you need to contact Chime for help.
To check if the transaction is still pending, open your Chime app and log in to your account. Then, locate and tap on the “View Transactions” tab.
You will see the word Pending beneath the dollar amount of the said transaction. If there is none, this means that the transaction has been cleared.
A green or black bar also indicates that the transaction is in process.
You can also view pending transactions by accessing the Chime website. Just navigate to the list of all of your transactions and look for the ones with Pending on the far right of the screen.
Once you have located the pending transaction you wish to cancel, you only need to do several steps to complete the process.
You can cancel it either via the Chime app, the Chime website or through a phone call.

How To Dispute A Charge On Chime:
It is not unusual for users to cancel transactions done thru Chime. Most of these requests are approved by the merchant. If not, you can file a dispute.
There are three ways to do this – using the app, calling Chime, or sending an email.
To file a dispute via the Chime app, you need to navigate to the “View Transactions” tab, then locate the charge you want to contest. Tap “Problem with this transaction?” and enter the required information.
Once you file the dispute, you can check the status in the Chime app.
You may also call Chime at 1-844-244-6363, especially if the problem is with an automated clearing house (ACH) transfer or Credit Builder transaction.
If you prefer to reach out to Chime via email, you may send a message at support@chime.com. Just make sure to include the amount and date of the transaction and merchant information, including their name and address.
You should also indicate the reason for the dispute. To help Chime speed up the investigation, documentation like screenshots of your conversation with the merchant and photos of defective merchandise.
During the investigation, Chime may file for a chargeback with the merchant, requesting that the funds from the disputed transaction be returned to you.
The merchant may accept or reject the chargeback and provide evidence to counter your claim. They have 30 days to respond to the chargeback request.
Depending on the response of the merchant, the chargeback process may take up to 70 days.
If you are filing a dispute for unauthorized transactions, Chime recommends that you turn off card transactions on your app’s Settings to prevent your card from being used further.
Chime will also automatically disable your international transactions to protect your account. You can easily toggle this back on by going to your Chime app Settings.
